"Sheffielders Urgent Talk return with an exploratory record that aims ever higher and wider as the band continue their study of the boundaries of "pop". With a stated aim of evolution not stagnation, "Alexander, IV" looks to change the perception of the band yet again using weird samples and bubbly synth to peer into the tangled netting of Myles' lavish, evocative phrasing.

A watery theme runs through "Alexander, IV"; not a tropical, hazy feeling but an invigorating, "English" kind of flow. Childhood fun and adult contemplation play amongst the spirited ripples picked out by O'Hare's viola plucks and Fabian's tight programming.
